The Challenge in Qatar

Contaminated Land Is Delaying Projects and Costing Millions

Land contamination from oil & gas, construction and industrial activity routinely stalls handover schedules and inflates project budgets across Qatar’s development pipeline.

  • Traditional approach: Excavate and dispose off-site. It is slow, costly, and it just moves the problem somewhere else.
  • Our approach: Treat contaminated soil on-site with in-situ mechanical, chemical and biological methods.

40%

Average cost savings treating soil on-site instead of excavation & disposal at 850 QAR/m³

Our 4-in-1 Approach

One Company. Four Solutions.

Mechanical

Soil screening and soil washing. A fast first step for coarse, debris-heavy contaminated soils.

Chemical

In-situ chemical oxidation and stabilization. Fast treatment for TPH and BTEX contamination.

Biological

Bioremediation, biopiling and landfarming. The most cost-effective route for large soil volumes.

Nanotechnology

Nanoscale zero-valent iron for targeted reduction and immobilization of hydrocarbons and heavy metals. An advanced technique within our chemical treatment scope.

About Us

Restoring Qatar’s Land, Sustainably and Compliantly

Founded in January 2026 in Doha, Milestones Centre is licensed by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) under Activity Code 390001 for the remediation of contaminated soils. Our mission is to restore Qatar’s land through sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective remediation solutions.

Evidence-Based Restoration

Every intervention is grounded in site diagnostics, laboratory data, and international best practice, not guesswork.

  • Filling a critical gap in Qatar’s market: while disposal is common, in-situ treatment is the future for cost, ESG, and speed.
  • Our values: Integrity, Sustainability, Compliance, Innovation, and Qatari Expertise.

Phase Delivery Model: Diagnose–Design–Deliver–Verify

What We Do

A Structured Path From Diagnosis to Verified Clearance

Every engagement follows a disciplined four-phase workflow, ensuring end-to-end traceability of contamination remediation aligned with ISO 18504 and Qatar’s permitting requirements.

Diagnose & Design

Contamination profiling, desktop review and physical sampling feed a tailored Remediation Action Plan.

Deliver & Verify

Field execution against the RAP, followed by third-party post-remediation verification and closure reporting.

  • Site-specific Remediation Action Plans (RAPs)
  • MoECC-approved laboratory partnerships
  • GPS-referenced chain-of-custody documentation
  • Post-remediation verification & closure reports
Why Milestones

Why Qatar’s Industrial Sector Trusts Milestones

Six reasons procurement and HSE managers choose Milestones as their remediation contractor of record.

Qatari Licensed

We sign contracts and interface directly with MOECC and QatarEnergy. No third-party pass-through is needed.

40% Cost Savings

In-situ treatment versus excavation and disposal to Mesaieed at 850 QAR/m³.

Speed

Average project closeout in 8–12 weeks, with full documentation delivered alongside handover.

Compliance First

All work aligned to MOECC Law 30/2002, QatarEnergy HSE specifications, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.

FAQ’s

Your Questions About Soil Remediation

We are licensed under activity code 390001 to decontaminate and rehabilitate polluted soils on-site or off-site, using mechanical, chemical and biological methods for hydrocarbon, heavy-metal and industrial-chemical contamination.

Oil and gas operators, EPC contractors and infrastructure developers, government entities such as MoECC and Ashghal, and industrial estates in Mesaieed, Ras Laffan and Manateq zones.

Each project runs on a site-specific QA/QC plan, chain-of-custody sampling through MoECC-approved laboratories, and closure reports formatted to MoECC Environmental Site Assessment Guidelines and ISO 18504.

In-situ bioremediation and chemical oxidation (ISCO), ex-situ landfarming, and thermal or soil-washing treatment for hard-to-treat contaminants. The right method is chosen based on soil type, contaminant load and project timeline.

Our Approach

Evidence-Led Diagnostics, Regulator-Aligned Delivery

Our leadership combines soil restoration, GIS and remote sensing, and climate governance experience, including large-scale baseline assessment work across 11 frontline states of Nigeria’s Great Green Wall programme.

Grounded in Applied Field Experience

Land baseline assessment fieldwork

National Baseline Assessment Leadership

Our CEO led the technical coordination of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW) Baseline Assessment across 11 frontline states of Nigeria, covering roughly 43% of the country’s land area. The work involved large-scale baseline design, multi-site coordination, and pulling together evidence on land productivity to guide restoration targets.

Chief Executive Officer

Geospatial & Land Governance Expertise

As Director General and CEO of the Yobe State Geographic Information Service, our Executive Director for Research & Land Rehabilitation leads statewide land governance, digital cadastral systems and spatial data management. These are the same capabilities we apply directly to contamination mapping and land-use analytics in Qatar.

Prof. Abdullahi Hassan Gana

Executive Director, Research & Land Rehabilitation

Evidence-Led Engineering Design

Our soil engineering lead grounds every treatment design in real Qatari field data instead of imported benchmarks, including Qatar University trials recording 53% hydrocarbon removal in biopiles over 90 days, against 30% from natural self-purification over the same period.

Engr. Muhammad Garba

Executive Director, Soil Engineering

Spatial Accuracy From the First Site Visit

Our GIS director makes sure every site is classified correctly against its contaminant profile and treatment route from the start, since a tank farm and a landfill margin call for entirely different remediation approaches.

Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi

Director, Geographical Information System

Coordinated Delivery, On Schedule

Our planning and coordination lead turns our four-stage delivery process into schedules we can actually keep, so the cost and timeline commitments made to clients and regulators hold up in practice.
